Laura Martinez-Aversano D.D.S.
"When you visit us at Manhattan Dental Care, you will receive dentistry to give you the smile you desire in a pleasant environment, and all delivered by a warm, welcoming staff."

Giving Back
Dr. Laura Aversano has served as an associate professor of fixed and removable prosthodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. During her time as associate professor at UIC, she also worked with junior and senior dental students during their clinical training. After the birth of her daughter, Ava, in 2007, Dr. Aversano decided to devote more time to her family and temporarily took a hiatus from teaching.

As part of her continued commitment to giving back, Dr. Aversano and Manhattan Dental Care participate in the Illinois Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. This program, along with referrals from local organizations, allows Dr. Aversano to reach out to the local community and provide free dental care to those people in need.

Working with a Caring Staff
Dr. Aversano believes strongly in providing quality dental care to her patients. A big part of her dental philosophy is listening to her patients and ensuring their comfort. The Manhattan Dental Care staff plays a crucial role in easing a patient's concerns and Dr. Aversano requires that each member of her staff shows the necessary gentle and passionate care toward all patients

Continued Education
New advances are made in dentistry each year, and keeping abreast of the latest technology is essential to providing the best dental care. Dr. Aversano is committed to knowledge and always exceeds the yearly amount of required continuing education.

Personal
Dr. Aversano is a graduate of the 2002 class of Dentistry from the University of Illinois. She married Vince Aversano in 2004 and together they enjoy spending time with their daughter, Ava Valentina. Ava joined their lives in February of 2007, and her spirit and heart (and smile!) make every day a joy! During the summer, they enjoy walks and everything our city of Chicago can offer. In the winter, skiing and snowmobiling are some of Dr. Aversano's passions.

Elizabeth Murdock, R.D.H.
Patients ask me all the time, "Why did you decide to do this for a living?" The answer is simple. I love helping my patients get healthy. Showing them a simple technique in tooth brushing or educating them on gum disease can turn a person's oral health around; not to mention their overall well being. It's a wonderful feeling to be a part of that.

My dental hygiene career began when I graduated from Prairie State College in 1995. My first job was in a periodontal practice in Chicago where I developed my background in soft tissue management (treatment of gum disease). All of my patients in that practice had moderate to severe gum disease, most of whom required surgery. After working in that environment for four years, my mind was made up to spend the rest of my career with a dedication to treat gum disease and to teach my patients care and prevention. From there, an opportunity arose to work in a general dentistry practice, where I refined my skills in the cosmetic and restorative parts of general dentistry.

In June of 2001, I had the privilege of joining the Manhattan Dental Care team. Here I have been fortunate to work with a great group of dental professionals who have a genuine interest in our patients' health. I have also been lucky enough to have wonderful patients whom I have established professional and personal relationships with over the years.

Outside of the office, I enjoy gardening, reading, playing bean bags and spending time with my friends and family. My husband and I live in a nearby community with our two dogs, Max and Pete.

Teresa Randolph, R.D.H.
I am the newest member of the Manhattan Dental Care team. I joined the practice in March 2009. I have been a hygienist for many years and I come to the practice with exceptional periodontal skills. I take pride in making our patients comfortable. I have been told that my strongest skill is my chair side manner. One of my jobs is to educate our patients about their oral health. Every conversation I have with a patient opens a discussion about their health, but after a few minutes it becomes apparent this is not just a job for me, but a true enjoyment. I attend many continuing education courses and I am a member of the Illinois State Dental Society. I reside in Frankfort with my husband, Chris, and our 9 year old twins, Ethan and Zoe. I am an active member of an Autism support group, Moms of Multiples group and a theatre volunteer group. In my spare time, I enjoy going to museums, Nascar racing and Polish cooking. I also speak fluent Polish.
